Barbara Cooper

Barb has over 20 years of banking experience, with 15 years in trust services. She provides trust and investment services for clients in the Decatur, IL area. Prior to joining First Mid, she served in the same capacity at Soy Capital Bank.

Barb attended the Ascensus IRA Institute, attaining the Certified IRA Services Professional designation from the American Bankers Association. She is a graduate of the Cannon Financial Institute where she earned her Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor designation and her Certified Securities Operations Professional designation and Certified Trust Operations Professional. 

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Millikin University.

Barb belongs to the Central Illinois Estate Planning Council and is active in mentoring teenage girls in Job’s Daughters on the local, state, and international levels.
