What causes are you passionate about supporting through volunteerism? I'm passionate about supporting organizations and events that make a positive impact in our local communities. Through my involvement with the Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce and other community organizations, I've had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people and see firsthand the difference we can make when people come together for a common purpose. I truly enjoy being part of that!
What would you tell others who are thinking about volunteering? Bring a friend and just get out there and give it a try! Volunteering is about so much more than giving your time. There's a great feeling that comes from helping others and making a difference, but for me, it's also about the people you meet and the relationships you build along the way.
What are ways you think others can get involved? Start with something that interests you! Check with your local chamber of commerce, food bank, or animal shelter. There are so many great organizations and events right in our own communities looking for volunteers. Whether it's through First Mid, a local nonprofit, or a community event, there's always an opportunity to lend a hand. You don't have to make a huge commitment to make an impact. Sometimes just showing up is the first step!
