Wire Transfer Instructions

Sending and receiving wire transfers through First Mid Bank & Trust is easy and convenient. 

Outgoing Wires

First Mid personal banking customers may initiate outgoing wire transfers in person at any of our banking centers. Wire transfers completed at the branch, Monday through Friday (excluding bank holidays), before 4:00 p.m. (Central Time) will be sent the same day – assuming all proper approvals and signatures have been obtained. Any outgoing transfers completed after the 4:00 p.m. (CT) cut-off time will be sent out on the next banking business day.

Business customers should contact a Treasury Management Representative to inquire about commercial wire services.

When you come into a banking center, you’ll need to bring valid identification and provide the following information to send an outgoing wire:

  • Stated purpose for the wire transfer
  • Originator Information:
    • Your name and address
    • Your First Mid account number 
  • Beneficiary Financial Institution Information:
    • Receiving bank’s name and address
    • Receiving bank’s ABA/Routing for US Domestic Wires
    • Receiving bank’s SWIFT/BIC number for International Wires
  • Beneficiary Information:
    • Recipient’s bank account number
    • Recipient’s name and address on the account

The fee to send a domestic wire within the United Sates is $20.00.
The fee to send an international wire is $75.00. 


Incoming Wires

To receive an incoming wire, you will need to provide the following information to the sender.

  • Beneficiary Financial Institution:
    • Bank Name:  First Mid Bank & Trust
    • Bank Address:  1515 Charleston Ave, Mattoon, IL 61938
    • ABA/Routing #:  071102076 
    • SWIFT/BIC #:  FMTAUS44 for International Wires
  • Beneficiary Information:
    • Your name and address
    • Your First Mid account number
  • Originator Information:
    • Name and address of person sending the funds

The fee to receive an incoming wire is $10.00.
