First Mid’s social media channels are intended to provide helpful information, share updates, and engage with our customers and communities. To maintain a safe, respectful, and productive environment for all users, we ask that you follow these guidelines when interacting with our pages.


1. Protecting Your Privacy and Security
For your safety, please do not post personal, financial, or account information in comments or public messages.
If you contact us regarding an account-specific question, we may request additional details through a secured, First Mid–approved form.

  • We will never request your full account number, online banking password, PIN, or other sensitive information in comments or direct messages.
  • We will only request additional information after you initiate the conversation, and only through our secure form.

2. Monitoring and Response Hours
Our social media channels are monitored Monday Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
If you need assistance outside of those hours, please contact our Customer Support Center:

  • Monday Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

We will respond to social media inquiries as soon as possible during monitoring hours.

3. Community Expectations
We encourage open, respectful conversation. Comments made by individuals do not necessarily reflect the views of First Mid and are the sole responsibility of the person posting them.
To maintain a constructive environment, First Mid may remove content that includes, but is not limited to:
Respect & Safety

  • Profanity, threats, harassment, or abusive language
  • Hate speech or discriminatory remarks related to race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or political beliefs
  • Personal attacks against individuals or groups
  • Content that is inflammatory or intentionally disruptive (“trolling”)

Privacy

  • Private or identifying information about any individual without consent
  • Photos or videos posted without permission from the subjects or the photographer/videographer
  • Attempts to collect personal information or indications of stalking

Security & Integrity

  • False or misleading information
  • Discussion of illegal activity
  • Spam, commercial solicitations, link baiting, or malware/virus-containing files
  • Content that violates copyright or intellectual property rights
  • Content that relates to confidential or proprietary business information

Political or Promotional Content

  • Political advocacy, commentary, or debate unrelated to First Mid
  • Promotion of competitors or self-promotion not related to our content or community initiatives

4. Moderation and Enforcement

We reserve the right to hide or remove comments that violate these guidelines. Individuals who repeatedly post prohibited content may be restricted or banned from our social media pages.

5. Additional Notes

  • First Mid does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, or any other protected characteristic.
  • By engaging with our social media channels, you agree to comply with these Community Guidelines and the terms of use for each platform.
