Inside Your Home:
- Dust ceiling fans and light fixtures
- Wipe down lightbulbs
- Sweep out fireplace and store any unused logs
- Degrease cooking appliances
- Wipe down walls
- Clean refrigerator and freezer
- Clean upholstered furniture
- Vacuum and clean carpets
- Wash windows and clean windowsills
- Wash curtains and wipe down window blinds
- Wipe down wood moldings and baseboards
- Dust room corners for cobwebs
- Test batteries in all smoke detectors
- Disinfect doorknobs, cabinet handles, and light switches
Outside Your Home:
- Clean and repair gutters
- Prepare grill for use
- Repair roof
- Clean and repair window screens
- Clean deck
- Get mower ready (tune it up, change the oil, check the battery, sharpen the blade, lubricate any moving parts)
