Austin Hernandez

As a Treasury Management Officer II, Austin works with business clients to understand how they collect, manage, and disburse their funds, and offers solutions that can help them meet their current and evolving cash management needs.

Austin began his banking career in 2014 and joined First Mid in 2022. He is familiar with the surrounding communities, as he has lived in rural Coles County all his life. He graduated from Neoga High School, received his Associate Degree in Business Administration from Lake Land College, and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Eastern Illinois University.

Austin is passionate about helping businesses and organizations achieve their financial goals through strong treasury and cash management solutions. Whether improving cash flow, streamlining receivables and payables, or strengthening fraud protection, Austin takes the time to understand each client’s needs and recommend the tools that best support their operations. He is a member of the Mattoon Emerging Leaders and enjoys assisting with Special Olympics.
