Meet Eric

Eric Smith is a Community Bank President for First Mid Bank & Trust, serving Des Moines and the surrounding Central Iowa market. He works closely with business customers to provide financing solutions that support strategic growth and deliver relationship-driven service.

With nearly 20 years of banking experience, Eric joined First Mid in 2026 through the Two Rivers Bank & Trust acquisition.

Eric is deeply engaged in the Central Iowa community, serving as a board member of the Des Moines Community Playhouse, and a member of the Johnston Rotary Club. He previously served as board president of the Johnston Community School Foundation and remains closely involved in Johnston youth programs. Eric has also volunteered with the Food Bank of Iowa and the Johnston Partnership, reflecting his commitment to strengthening local families and supporting community needs.
