Meet Joe

Joe Hansen is a Senior Vice President, Commercial Lender with First Mid Bank & Trust, serving the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area. He works with middle market businesses, including those in the aerospace and defense industry, to deliver financing solutions that support growth and long-term success.

With more than 30 years of experience in commercial banking, Joe brings a strong background in commercial and industrial lending, owner-occupied real estate, and commercial real estate. He began his career in credit and risk management before moving into relationship management and leadership roles, where he led commercial banking teams and helped drive strategic growth in the DFW market. His experience allows First Mid to effectively compete in the middle market and serve specialized industries such as aerospace and defense.

Joe holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and has completed advanced studies in financial strategy at Oxford University, along with a Graduate Banking Certificate from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking.

He is active in the community, supporting youth and education-focused programs, including mentorship initiatives through the Texas National Guard and local school districts. Joe is also a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in aviation and leadership roles and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He is also a commercial-rated pilot, further strengthening his connection to the aerospace industry.
