Meet Melissa

Melissa Schooley serves as SVP, Regional Community Bank President for First Mid Bank & Trust in the Eastern Iowa Region. She provides leadership and strategic direction for the region while working closely with customers, employees, and community partners to support growth and long-term success.

With more than 30 years of banking experience, Melissa brings extensive expertise in commercial banking, business development, credit management, and team leadership. She joined First Mid through the acquisition of Two Rivers Bank & Trust, where she served as Senior Vice President, Business Banking Leader. Throughout her career, she has held numerous commercial banking and executive leadership roles, leading teams across Eastern Iowa and helping businesses achieve their financial goals.

Melissa earned an Associate Degree in Accounting and Financial Management from the American Institute of Business and is a graduate of the Iowa School of Banking, Commercial Lending School, and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado.

Active in the community, Melissa currently serves on the Greater Iowa City Innovation Council and the Johnson County Affordable Housing Coalition Engagement Committee. She previously served in leadership roles with numerous organizations throughout Eastern Iowa, including the Iowa City Area Home Builders Association, Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity, Housing Fellowship, Domestic Violence Intervention Program, and the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce.
