Meet Ron

Ron Pins is a Vice President, Commercial Lender with First Mid Bank & Trust, serving businesses throughout the Des Moines and Central Iowa region. He works closely with business owners to provide financing solutions that support growth, expansion, and long-term success.

With more than 30 years of commercial lending experience, Ron specializes in commercial and industrial (C&I) and commercial real estate (CRE) lending. Throughout his career, he has worked with a diverse range of clients, including municipalities, staffing firms, start-up businesses, and established companies. His experience includes SBA lending, Industrial Revenue Bond financing, ESOP financing, and specialized financing for dental practices.

Ron is active in the community and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Young Parents Network and the Finance Committee for Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity. He has also held leadership roles with several nonprofit organizations, including serving as Board Chair for the National Kidney Foundation of Iowa, Young Parents Network, and Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity.
