Meet Shane

Shane Zimmerman serves as Executive Vice President, Western Division President for First Mid Bank & Trust, overseeing commercial banking operations and business development. He works closely with business owners and community leaders to deliver strategic banking solutions that support long-term growth and success throughout the region.

With more than 31 years of banking experience, Shane brings extensive leadership expertise in commercial banking, strategic planning, financial management, and team development. He joined First Mid through the acquisition of Two Rivers Bank & Trust, where he served as President and CEO. Prior to that role, Shane spent more than 25 years with Wells Fargo in senior business banking and market leadership positions, leading commercial banking teams across Iowa, western Illinois, and Nebraska.

Shane earned a Master of Business Administration from Drake University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Northern Iowa. He is active in the banking industry and community, serving on the boards of Ellipsis and the Iowa Bankers Association, where he also serves as Treasurer. He is also a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Community Depository Institution Advisory Council and the American Bankers Association’s Community Bankers Advisory Board.
