Volunteer Spotlight – Megan Plack

Volunteer Spotlight - Megan Plack

First Mid is honored to recognize Megan Plack, Universal Banker in Galesburg, IL, as our Volunteer Spotlight for May 2025. Megan is committed to supporting local community organizations through volunteerism, consistently demonstrating our core values.

What causes are you passionate about supporting through volunteerism? I’m passionate about giving back to the community I’ve called home for over a decade through my volunteer work with the Knoxville Community Fire Protection District. Supporting this cause not only allows me to stay connected and contribute to my community, but it also helps me continue growing and improving my own skills.

What would you tell others who are thinking about volunteering? I would encourage others to find a cause they’re passionate about and take that first step to get involved. So many organizations are in need of volunteers and would truly value any support. Even if you don’t have a lot of time to give, every little bit makes a difference.

What are ways you think others can get involved? It is easier than ever to get involved in an organization or event. Local community pages are full of opportunities to volunteer and make a difference. Social media and your own personal network are great tools for finding ways to give back. Don’t underestimate the power of a simple “Who needs help this weekend?” text or social post. It can open the door to some amazing opportunities to give back.

Congratulations, Megan, on being featured as a Volunteer Spotlight! We are honored to showcase the impact you have on your community. First Mid is proud to support your volunteer efforts. To read our other employee spotlights, click here.
