Derrick Helm, Sr. serves as a Mortgage CRA Loan Officer for First Mid serving the Champaign-Urbana area in Illinois. In his role, he is responsible for assisting customers with all aspects of Mortgage Lending, including home purchases, refinances, home equity lines of credit, and personal loans.
With over 30 years in customer and community service, Derrick brings a deep passion for helping people achieve their dreams. He is committed to serving clients with integrity, transparency, empathy, and patience. Derrick takes pride in guiding individuals through every step of the process with care and clarity. He provides solutions for buyers at any stage of credit, down payment, or homebuying experience.
Outside of work, Derrick is a proud husband of 28 years to a dedicated teacher, as well as a proud father and grandfather. For him, helping families build their future isn’t just a job—it’s a calling.
