Beware of Fraudulent Text Messages & Phishing Scams

It’s important to stay vigilant against fraudsters. We will never contact you by phone or text to ask for your digital banking login ID, password, or account number. If receiving a questionable text or call, do not provide your personal information or click on links in such a text. If you have questions about your accounts, please contact your banker or go to the closest First Mid location directly.

You should also never provide your account information or personal details through online forms saying your account must be validated to be included in a class action suit. Scammers are using these tactics in an attempt to gain access to your account.

If you receive a suspicious text or see an online post asking for details about your First Mid account, avoid sharing any sensitive details. You should always contact us and log into your account through trusted channels and never by clicking a link in a text message.

Here are a few tips:

  • Navigate to our website through your web browser, rather than through a link in a message.
  • Use our mobile banking app.
  • Pay attention to the sender name.
  • Double check the phone number listed in the text message. You will always find our correct Customer Support phone number on our website.
  • Don’t click on suspicious links in a text message you weren’t expecting.

If you suspect fraud or have questions about an online post, please call our Customer Support Center at 877-888-5629.
