Understand Your Medicare and Senior Coverage Options

Medicare Options

With ever-changing health and drug plans for seniors, choosing the right coverage can be confusing.

Every year, Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) is October 15 – December 7. This is the only time during the year that seniors can change their Part “D” drug plan and/or their Medicare Advantage plan for the following year. Changes made during this period will take effect January 1 of the next year. AEP does not apply to those on Medicare Supplement plans — which can be changed any time during the year.

Information for next year’s plans will be available beginning in October. Even if you are satisfied with your current coverage, you should always review the new information to be sure changes are not being made to your plans. Changes in plans from year to year may include things like cost, benefits, rules, and what providers and pharmacies are in your network.
