Volunteer Spotlight – Johanna Wyatt

Johanna Wyatt, First Mid Universal Banker in Highland IL, recognized in October 2025 Volunteer Spotlight for community service.

First Mid is honored to recognize Johanna Wyatt, Universal Banker in Highland, IL, as our Volunteer Spotlight for October 2025. Johanna is committed to supporting local community organizations through volunteerism, consistently demonstrating our core values.

What causes are you passionate about supporting through volunteerism? Through the Highland Jaycees, I’ve seen how planning events—whether it’s something smaller like a community barbecue or a larger tradition like Schweizerfest—can bring people together and make our community stronger. What I love most is that our organization not only strengthens the town but also helps young adults build confidence, make connections, and explore new adventures.

What would you tell others who are thinking about volunteering? I would tell others that volunteering is a wonderful way to connect with your community while making a real difference. It’s such a rewarding experience to know that your efforts help others and create opportunities for your community to come together. Beyond the impact you make, volunteering also gives you the chance to build relationships, grow personally, and be part of something bigger than yourself.

What are ways you think others can get involved? If you enjoy working with people, try volunteering at community events or youth programs. If you like hands-on work, join a cleanup, food drive, or help at an animal shelter. Whatever your interests—arts, education, the environment—there’s always a cause that can benefit from your time and talents.

Congratulations, Johanna, on being featured as a Volunteer Spotlight! We are honored to showcase the impact you have on your community. First Mid is proud to support your volunteer efforts. To read our other employee spotlights, click here.
